Domestic and international airlines serve several major airports in Florida: Jacksonville International (JAX), Miami International (MIA), Orlando International (MCO) and Tampa International (TPA).   Many smaller airports are located throughout the state.  The Tampa International Airport (TIA) is convieniently located and very close to downtown and the beaches. Amtrak stops in Lakeland, Jacksonville, Orlando, Sebring, Tampa, Miami, and Winterhaven as well as many other towns in the state. The trains that run between Los Angeles and Jacksonville cross the northern part of Florida, stopping in Pensacola, Tallahassee and other cities.  Amtrak’s Autotrain service, which will transport both you and your car by rail, runs from Lorton, Virginia (outside Washington, D.C.), to Sanford, Florida (about 20 mi/30 km north of Orlando).  Reservations are a must on the autotrain. Another car/train service is the Florida Fun Train that runs between Hollywood, Florida, and Kissimmee (near Orlando).  It includes special entertainment  cars for children and a wine bar and pub for the grownups. The Florida Turnpike (a  toll road) splits off of I-75 northwest of Orlando and  runs to Homestead, south of Miami. I-4 runs from near Daytona Beach to Tampa. Once on I-75, Tampa is very easy to find.
